Owners tell us the hardest part of hiring an adviser is not knowing what it will cost. So here it is: three ways to engage, four services, and the terms behind them.

The small print, in large print

  • The diagnosis guarantee

If the written note from the first two weeks does not tell you something about your numbers you did not know, tell us and we will not invoice that fortnight.

  • How we invoice

Projects: 40% on signing, 60% on hand-over. Retainers: monthly in advance. Success fees: only on completion, from the funds received.

  • Expenses

Travel inside the city of the office is included. Other travel is billed at cost, agreed in advance, never marked up.

  • Ending an engagement

Retainers run for a six-month minimum, then 30 days’ notice either side. Projects can be stopped at any stage; you pay for the work done.

When can you start?

Most engagements start within ten working days of the scope being signed. This is how the first twelve weeks run.

  1. Week 1–2

    Diagnose

We read three years of accounts, the bank statements and your management pack, then sit with you for half a day. You get a written note on what we found.

  2. Week 2–3

    Plan

A one-page plan: what we will fix, in what order, what it costs and what you will have at the end. Nothing starts until you sign it.

  3. Week 3–10

    Build

The work itself — the model, the data room, the lender pack, the monthly close. A partner on it every week, a written update every Friday.

  4. Week 10–12

    Hand over

Your team is trained on everything we built, and it lives in your files, not ours. Retainer clients keep us on for the monthly review.
